The Sokos Vaakuna hotel is located in the heart of Rovaniemi, the modern centre of Lapland.

The lobby area is medium in size, decor used is very modern with much use of glass, metal framework and tiled floors. Adjacent to the lobby is a seating area which combines with a pub which is one of the most popular meeting places in town.

It is a very modern property typical of the architecture found in this northern city and looks a little cold and bland but this is not indicative of the style and quality found inside.

The restaurant is again modern in style but tastefully blends more local and traditional wares.

Standard: All rooms are of medium size and kept in very good condition. They are very modern and tastefully decorated in autumnal colours - including blackout curtains, after all in summer the sun never sets in Rovaniemi. The bathrooms are also in very good condition
